![]() Before I moved to Hawaii, I had never been in the water passed my waist. So, I had more than trepidation when my sister thrust upon me the gift of PADI Open Water Certification for my birthday. She took me to the shop and introduced me to Pat (the owner) and my soon-to-be-instructor, Tyler. I was immediately at ease upon meeting these folks. There was a family feel to the shop and I felt a genuine affection from these strangers. Needless to say, I was all over the place underwater. But Tyler has the patience of a saint and eventually I felt at ease. By the third day (certification day) I felt like a natural. So much so in fact, that I chose to go pro. I am now a Divemaster. In December 2008, I am moving to Roatan, Honduras where I have a job waiting! I was completely blind-sided by my new passion. I firmly believe that I would never have found this life if I hadn't felt immediately part of the Deep Ecology family. I can only say "Thank You" - but not nearly enough.
Lizz Lee I have been to three different countries in the last five years and tried to get into scuba diving in each one as well as multiple dive shops in the states. When I came to Deep Ecology, not only did Pat and her entire staff treat me like family but they also were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable not only about diving and equipment but the importance of the ocean surrounding all of us and just how fragile the ecosystem is. I can't picture myself diving or shopping with anyone else. WAY TO GO PAT!!
Dustin Campbell Thank you for some amazing shore and boat dives, your staff is TOP NOTCH and your service is the BEST! The best diving on Hawaii.
David Choboten, Victoria, B.C. Thanks Deep Ecology & teacher Tyler for the opportunity to explore the deep blue. It was an experience I always sought to master - and though my skills may not be spot on-I have officially found a new passion in life. Gracias.
